In case you hadn’t noticed it’s been a bit quiet up here over the past week, unfortunately not because I’ve had a quiet simple week.

Lets seen babysitting on Monday, followed by a physical Tuesday AND I started a pretty intense computer class on Tuesday too. Tuesday pretty much sucked, since I got about hours of sleep on Monday night AND I had to fast for the physical. With just 4 hours of sleep and no caffene I was also expected to be able to string a coherent sentence or 5 together for the class I started… Fun I tell ya!

Then there was the physical. Let me jsut say, I don’t like pain… It hurts me. I don’t like being a hapless pincushion for some medical technician who’s hamfisted blood drawing technique caused the dead pig to squeal in pain when this tech was doing her hands on training. Lets see, first there was the final round of my hepititus vaccine. Ok, word to the wise, when you have a patient that’s not a big fan of getting injections, don’t stick the syringe into their arm and exclaim “OH CRAP! That’s never happened before!” as you snap the plunger off the back of the syringe! It doesn’t exactly give off an aura of competence. 5 vials of blood took two different sticks on different arms because she managed to blow out my vein. Now I have bruises on the insides of both of my elbows, although I’ve been told I’d make a bad junkie… Not sure if that’s a compliment or not…

While not painful, I also greatly dislike hearing tests. I tend to psych myself out over this test. You know the test, you sit in this sound proof booth with a pair of headphones on and press a button every time you hear a beep. The trouble is the minute I put the headphones on my ears start ringing, and I start stressing about whether I’ve actually heard a beep or if it’s just my ears ringing. Maybe the ringing in my ears is drowning out the beep that I would be able to hear otherwise if my ears weren’t ringing in the first place? I don’t know maybe it’s just me…

Wednesday was bowling night. The wife and I joined our first ever bowling league, and we had a really good time. My first game I bowled a personal best 195, bowling 5 strikes in a row! Things went rapidly downhill from there though, as game two was a 130 something and game three was a 115…. Well on the plus side it was the first night of a really long league…

Friday was the follow up to the first physical apointment, followed by a meeting about the application package I’m preparing for a promotion. I figured that it would be a 10 minute meeting… It ended up being closer to an hour and a half! On the plus side though it looks like I’m in the home stretch with the package and will be ready to send it in soon..
