To the people who know me and our family, it’s not much of a secret that TV is pretty important to us.  We watch A LOT of TV (possibly more than we should).  But hey, after a hectic day it’s nice to let the evening unwind with a few hours of somewhat escapist entertainment…

One of the show that we like a lot is Jericho over on CBS.  It was a new show this season, and when I first started watching it I wasn’t sure if I would continue.  I wasn’t sure a show based on a doomsday scenario was going to be something I would really want to get in to.  But Jericho is a show that jumped on the ABC bandwangon of serial dramas.  Like Lost, Jericho had an ongoing plotline that is really the basis of the entire show.  A good serial drama like Lost or Jericho can suck you in as you try and figure out just what the heck is going on…  and that’s exactly what Jericho managed to do…

On my way through SeaTac Airport the other day I spotted this sign outside of the Ivar’s in the main terminal:

The best part about the sign is the lower half of it:

I love to travel, I love going places and seeing new things, or for that matter just re-experiencing old favorites. I’ve mentioned before that I’ve done quite a bit a traveling, so I know what to expect. Even still it never ceases to amaze me when I encounter somebody who just doesn’t have a clue. Now I’m not talking about somebody who doesn’t know to take their shoes off – oh no I’m talking about somebody who must live in a cave!

This week I flew out of the smallest airport I’ve ever been in. The “terminal” was so small that the baggage carousel at Los Angeles (where I was headed to) wouldn’t have fit inside the terminal building. The terminal is so small that security is in another building (as is the waiting room). After clearing security and waiting for our flight, I actually heard a woman say “I can’t believe they made us go through security here, I thought that they would take care of it right after we got off the plane in Los Angeles…”

Ah yes, because we’re not concerned about the bad guys getting on the plane – Nope they can get on the plane, but we just can’t have them arriving in Los Angeles! I was tempted to ask her when she planned on getting her money changed to the local currency in Los Angeles…

If you haven’t heard, there was a HUGE accident on Sunday not far away.  A tanker truck exploded and caused a major interchange to partially collapse.

The driver survived, which was amazing enough.  But apparently after the accident the driver WALKED almost a mile to a gas station where he encountered a cabbie who helped him.  The truck driver said he didn’t have a cell phone and he kept walking because nobody would stop to help him!

So my boss comes up to me the other day to tell me that he has decided to change the name of our office, and was looking for ideas for new names. He had a few options already and on his own came up with learning Resource Center and Learning Technology Center. I however came up with a much better name, it’s descriptive and even better if we get another classroom, the name is scalable… My suggestion: Two Rooms With Computers.

As perfect as the name is, I don’t think it will make the short list!
